How to Adapt Watch Bands for Large Wrists:
Most watches are created with an average wrist size in mind. For women, that means most metal watches are approximately six inches long and for men they are six and a half inches long. Strap-style bands, weather leather or rubber, tend to run longer with more possibility for adjustment for larger wrists. Stretchable watchbands with elastic allow for a custom fit but may pinch on larger than average wrists. If you are having trouble finding a watchband that fits your larger than average wrist, look for extra long strap bands or order extra links for your watch

Not sure which watch band will fit your wrist? Take a measurement and you will get the perfect size--or at least a comfortable fit. The store where you buy your watch should be able to measure your wrist or you can do it yourself, using a seamstress' measuring tape or one you can print from the Internet
Instructions- Print an online measuring tape from a website such as Reeds.com or Mytruefit.com. Check the print options on your computer to make sure the page will be printed normal size, or 100 percent
- Cut out the measuring tape with a pair of scissors and tape it together with a piece of transparent tape
- Wrap the measuring tape around your wrist, making sure the tape wraps around your wrist bone. Ask someone to help you if needed. Mark where the end of the measuring tape meets the rest of it
- Write your measurement on a piece of paper and add 1/2 to 1 1/2 inches, depending on how snugly you'd like your watch to fit. Look up your measurement on a wrist size chart at a jewelry store or online at watch retailer websites such as www.thewatchprince.com. If your measurement is not listed on the chart, choose one that falls into of the ranges listed
How to Measure the Diameter of a Wristwatch Case:
A watch case is the face of the watch, or the main area of the watch with the dial and any other instruments. Most women's watches are approximately 26 mm to 36 mm in size, while most men's watches are 37 mm to 42 mm in size. There are a few methods to measuring the diameter of a wristwatch case
Instructions- Use a small cloth measuring tape, such as the ones used for sewing. These measuring tapes can be purchased at most grocery, drug or sewing stores. Make sure the measuring tape includes millimeters on the measurement
- Place the end of the measuring tape (at "0") on one side of the watch face. If there are any stems on the side of the watch face, start the measurement at that point
- Pull the measuring tape across the watch face at the widest width of the watch to the other side of the case, including any stems on the other side. Make sure the measuring tape is taut across the watch face
- Write down the number of the case width. This is the diameter of the watch case. Note that when sellers or retailers refer to the "watch size," they are commonly referring to the thickness of the watch case or the length of the watch strap, not the diameter of the watch face
- Try using digital readers to measure the watch face. These tools are available at most watch repair stores or online, and use a small metal gauge to measure the watch face. The measurement is then displayed on a digital reader
